Cassondra Kurtz is the Founder of Beyond the Beard and has over 12 years' experience as a Master Barber. She specializes in beard trims, as well as the traditional hot towel shave, and happily boasts a diverse clientele.

With the goal to create a third space for others, Cassondra's relationships don't stop after they've left the chair. She regularly hosts classes, client appreciation happy hours, and annual fundraisers to make this mission become a reality.

Her joy comes from volunteerism, community and the act of making others feel better than they did before sitting in her chair.

Sheldon Marcelle is a NYS Licensed Master Barber and educator.

Sheldon has been a Master Barber for 8 years and the lead trainer for C.O. Bigelow Apothecaries and Proraso for the last 10 years.

He has honed his craft by specializing in traditional Straight Razor Shaves and has also focused his skills on Beard care.

The “Itty Bitty Greeting Committee” reporting for duty! Don’t worry, you’ll never leave unhappy. They are fully committed to their job including Quality Control.

Chiki is 14.5 and Teeny was almost 11! These gals have seen * a lot * of haircuts and beard trims so rest assured they know exactly what to look for. Alternatively, you can buy their approval with a snack or butt rub.

Born and raised in NY, Jenn is excited to join Beyond the Beard as our new Junior Barber. A recent graduate from Barber and Beauty Institute of NY, she comes to us with previous experience working as a freelance hair stylist. In addition to working behind the chair, she was also a hair swing for Mamma Mia on Broadway, styled NYC Fashion, as well as the 2009 Tony Awards. 

After a career change to education, Jenn is back doing hair with a strong focus on men's grooming.  She is currently offering complimentary services as our apprentice and takes models weekly. When she's not working, she is obsessing over her pit bull Blanca who you will definitely hear about if you’re a dog lover. Jenn looks forward to working with you soon!
